BANGUED, Abra,July 10(PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Abra headed by Provincial Director Arell F. Bañez, issued a consumer alert to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their dependents to be extra cautious in handling or sending their balikbayan boxes.
The consumer alert was issued after a series of complaints against some freight forwarders that have failed to deliver to the rightful consignees of balikbayan boxes from overseas.
DTI also warned the public especially the OFWs and their families to be more careful in sending their balikbayan boxes by checking with the Philippine Shippers Bureau (PSB) the list of accredited cargo shippers and to send their balikbayan boxes only to those with Accreditation by the PSB or those with good record.
